Man United Ready to Spend RM400 Million to Sign Hall

MANCHESTER: Manchester United are prepared to submit a £70 million (RM400 million) bid to secure the services of Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall during next summer’s transfer window.

United’s interest in the England international remains strong despite the club continuing to face uncertainty over Michael Carrick’s position as manager following a disappointing start to the season.

The development comes after the Red Devils suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford in a Premier League (EPL) clash, increasing pressure on Carrick’s position.

According to a report by Football Insider, Hall remains one of United’s main targets, and the club could revive their pursuit of the player next summer.

United had previously been reported to be focusing on strengthening their midfield during the summer transfer window, putting aside the need to add more options in defence.

Former United defender Gary Neville also criticised the club’s decision to spend money on three midfielders, describing its failure to strengthen the defence as a major oversight.

“United should have focused on strengthening their defence. That position is critical for United and needs improvement to prevent even worse performances,” Neville said.

However, securing the services of the young defender will not be easy, as he has signed a new contract with Newcastle that runs until 2031.
