Education-Industry Collaboration Offers More Than 10,000 Global Job Opportunities

KUALA LUMPUR: More than 10,000 overseas job opportunities are being offered to Malaysians through a work-based learning initiative.

The programme is supported by a network of employers and international education institutions based in Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Europe.

Chairman of SNT Group (M) Sdn Bhd (SNT Group), Prof. Datuk Seri Dr. Azizul Rahim Saedin, said the company serves as a facilitator for the initiative, leveraging its strong partnerships with industry players and international education institutions.

He said participants will not only have the opportunity to further their studies but also secure employment abroad.

“This initiative not only provides employment opportunities for Malaysians, but also enables them to enhance their academic qualifications while gaining valuable international work experience.

“We are working closely with universities, colleges and employment agencies in Australia, New Zealand and several European countries to create more structured education and career pathways,” he said after attending the Empowering Future Generation Talent Forum here today.

Azizul Rahim said participants in the programme would also have the opportunity to pursue their studies while working, subject to the requirements set by the respective education institutions and host countries.

He added that the programme also focuses on experienced workers who do not possess formal academic qualifications by providing a pathway for the recognition of prior work experience, enabling them to obtain certificates, diplomas or degrees from recognised institutions.

According to him, workers with at least three years of experience may enrol in short-term courses before having their work experience assessed to qualify for a diploma, while those with between five and 10 years of experience may be eligible to obtain a degree.

“This initiative is carried out in collaboration with public and private higher education institutions, as well as overseas universities, to enhance the employability of the Malaysian workforce.

“Our goal is to ensure that more Malaysians not only gain valuable work experience but also obtain recognised academic qualifications, making them more competitive and giving them access to better-paying career opportunities,” he said.
