Man Trespasses onto LRT3 Tracks, Train Services Disrupted for 30 Minutes

SHAH ALAM: A suspect was arrested after trespassing onto the Shah Alam Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3) tracks at Jalan Meru Station, Klang, this morning, causing train services to be suspended for approximately 30 minutes.

In a statement, Rapid KL said that immediately after the incident was detected, its operations personnel, together with Auxiliary Police officers, responded swiftly to locate and apprehend the suspect before handing him over to the Royal Malaysia Police. The suspect was subsequently taken to the Bandar Baru Klang Police Station for further investigation.

“To ensure the safety of passengers and maintain the integrity of rail operations, train services between Jalan Meru Station and Jambatan Kota Station were temporarily suspended for 30 minutes. This allowed enforcement personnel to carry out the necessary actions and ensure the tracks were safe before services resumed,” the statement said.

Rapid KL also confirmed that it would extend its full cooperation to the police in assisting with the investigation.

The rail operator apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers by the temporary service disruption, while reaffirming that passenger safety and the smooth operation of its services remain its highest priorities.

“Rapid KL advises the public not to trespass onto railway tracks, as such actions are not only against the law but also pose serious safety risks.

“In addition, passengers are encouraged to remain vigilant and immediately notify station staff or Auxiliary Police officers if they observe any suspicious behaviour,” the statement added.
