Johor Polls: Anwar Urges Johoreans To Give PH A Chance
JOHOR BAHRU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged the people of Johor to give Pakatan Harapan (PH) the opportunity to serve the state, ahead of polling day for the 16th Johor State Election (PRN) this Saturday.
In a post on his Facebook page today, Anwar, who is also PH Chairman, said that the coalition is committed to working hard to defend Johor’s interests, should they be given the mandate by the people.
“With only a few days left before the people of Johor make their choice, I appeal for HARAPAN to be given the opportunity to serve this state.
“Insya-Allah, we will work hard, defend Johor’s interests, and ensure that the progress brought is truly felt by all the people,” he said.
Anwar also called on Johoreans to return home to fulfil their responsibility as voters this Saturday.
In a separate post yesterday, he used a pantun (traditional Malay poem) to invite voters to return and vote for the state’s future.
“Laksa Johor has no equal,
Ancestral heritage always remembered;
Come home bringing hope,
May the state prosper and advance.”
The 16th Johor State Election sees 172 candidates contesting for 56 State Legislative Assembly seats, with polling day set for this Saturday.
