Typhoon Bavi Detected 1,896km Northeast Of Sandakan

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an advisory regarding Typhoon Bavi, which was detected at approximately 1,896 kilometres (km) northeast of Sandakan, Sabah.

MetMalaysia in a statement today informed that the typhoon is currently positioned at approximately 1,151 km southeast of Taipei, Taiwan.

Based on observations at 8 a.m., the typhoon is moving in a west-northwesterly direction at a speed of 20 kilometres per hour (km/h) and has the potential to reach a maximum speed of 185 km/h.

However, MetMalaysia informed that the typhoon does not have any significant impact on Malaysia.
