DALLAS : Statistics provider Opta Analyst predicts that Brazil have a 57.7 percent chance of winning their group stage match against Morocco, who have an 18.8 percent chance of victory.

Based on the same analysis, there is also a 23.5 percent chance that the match will end in a draw.

Overall, Brazil have a 65.85 percent chance of topping Group C, while Morocco have a 23.14 percent chance of doing the same.

Morocco were the ‘giant killers’ of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, defeating Spain and Portugal before losing to France in the semi-finals.

The nation was the first African country to reach the World Cup semi-finals. Morocco arrive at the 2026 tournament expected to deliver the best performance among teams from the Middle East and North Africa region.

Bolstered by a generation of players shaped in academies, and the Spanish and French leagues, Morocco have enough quality to make the opening night difficult for Brazil.

However, the team also struggled to begin 2026 when they lost the Africa Cup of Nations final to Senegal at home, only to be controversially awarded the title afterwards when their opponents were punished for leaving the field in protest over a penalty.

Coach Walid Regragui resigned three months before the World Cup and was replaced by Belgian-born Mohamed Ouahbi, who was promoted from the youth team after guiding Morocco to win the Under-20 World Cup title in Chile last year.
