US–Iran Nuclear Talks Set for Oman After Venue Shift from Turkey

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24: The United States and Iran are expected to hold a new round of nuclear negotiations in Oman on Friday, according to a report by Axios.

Axios journalist Barak Ravid cited an Arab source as saying that the administration of US President Donald Trump agreed to Tehran’s request to relocate the talks from Turkey to Oman.

The report added that discussions are still underway regarding the possible participation of other Arab and Muslim countries from the region, which could join the negotiations in Muscat as part of a broader diplomatic framework.

The upcoming talks come amid renewed efforts to ease long-standing tensions over Iran’s nuclear program, with Oman once again emerging as a key mediator due to its traditional role as a neutral diplomatic channel between Washington and Tehran.

Neither the US State Department nor Iranian officials have yet publicly confirmed details of the meeting, but diplomatic sources suggest the talks are aimed at exploring confidence-building measures and potential pathways toward de-escalation.

Further details about the agenda and participants are expected to be clarified ahead of Friday’s meeting.
