KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 4: Police have arrested three individuals following allegations that a 10-year-old girl was abused at a residence in Putra Heights.
Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the arrests were made after the child’s mother lodged a police report on Feb 3.
According to the report, the mother alleged that her daughter had been assaulted by a female relative at their shared home. Initial investigations revealed that the complainant, the suspect, and other family members were living together at the time of the incident.
The mother also claimed that she was assaulted during the same incident, prompting police to widen the scope of the investigation.
“Based on information obtained from the report and follow-up investigations, police arrested two women and one man aged between 17 and 49,” Wan Azlan said in a statement.
He added that all three suspects have been remanded for three days until Feb. 6 to facilitate further investigations.
Police have not disclosed further details as the case remains under investigation.
