HOMS, Syria, Dec 27: A terrorist attack struck the Imam Ali Mosque in the Wadi al-Dhahab neighborhood of Homs on Friday, killing and injuring worshippers during weekly Friday prayers, Syrian media reported.

Initial reports from the state news agency SANA indicated that at least five people were killed and 21 others wounded in the blast. Subsequent updates confirmed that the death toll has risen to eight, with 18 people injured.

Authorities are investigating the attack, which targeted civilians attending religious services. Regional networks and Syrian media condemned the incident, highlighting ongoing security challenges in the area.
