KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was seen engaging in a cordial conversation with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during the 28th ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Summit, held on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) today.
The friendly exchange between the two leaders reflected the close bilateral relationship between Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as their shared commitment to advancing ASEAN’s collective interests.
During the summit, leaders from ASEAN, China, Japan, and South Korea discussed efforts to strengthen economic resilience, enhance food and energy security, and promote financial cooperation across the region.
Prime Minister Anwar highlighted the importance of maintaining unity and mutual trust among ASEAN members and their dialogue partners, emphasizing that collaboration with China, Japan, and South Korea is key to regional stability and sustainable development.
President Prabowo echoed similar sentiments, expressing Indonesia’s readiness to work closely with Malaysia and other ASEAN nations in areas such as green energy, digital innovation, and maritime cooperation.
The ASEAN Plus Three Summit, established in 1997, remains a vital platform for fostering cooperation between Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia, contributing significantly to the region’s peace, prosperity, and shared growth.
