KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has accepted an invitation to deliver a lecture at Oxford University, hosted by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS), at a date to be determined.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said the invitation was extended during a courtesy call by the OCIS Board of Trustees at Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, on Monday.
The delegation included former Turkish president Dr. Abdullah Gul, former Kuwaiti prime minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Sabah, OCIS director Dr. Farhan Nizami, and OCIS fellow Datuk Dr. Afifi al-Akiti.
“We exchanged views on global economic developments and international relations within the Islamic world, with particular emphasis on fostering dialogue between the Islamic world and the West, as well as strengthening understanding of Islamic economics and markets,” Anwar said.
The Prime Minister’s upcoming lecture is expected to highlight Malaysia’s perspectives on Islamic economics, interfaith dialogue, and international cooperation, reflecting his long-standing advocacy for moderation and engagement between civilizations.
