Madinah, Aug 24: Saudi authorities have arrested a citizen in Madinah for selling hashish and illegally distributing 1,426 medical tablets, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) announced on Saturday.
Officials confirmed that preliminary procedures have been completed, and the suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and trial.
In a separate case, security patrols in the Asir region detained two Ethiopian nationals in Al-Farshah after they were caught attempting to smuggle 16 kilograms of qat. Both violators were handed over to the competent authorities following standard legal procedures.
The GDNC reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and smuggling at all levels. Authorities urged citizens and residents to remain vigilant and report any information related to drug activity.
