3 Killed, 8 Injured in Brooklyn Nightclub Shooting

New York: A deadly shooting at a nightclub in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood left three people dead and at least eight others injured early Sunday morning. The incident took place around 3:30 a.m. local time at the Taste of the City Lounge.

New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said one or more gunmen opened fire inside the club, killing three people at the scene. Among the injured were three women, aged between 27 and 61. Authorities confirmed that none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, and all victims are currently receiving treatment at local hospitals.

Investigators recovered at least 36 shell casings from the scene and also discovered a firearm on a nearby street.

Commissioner Tisch described the attack as “a horrific shooting in New York City,” adding:

“We’ve seen the lowest numbers of shootings and victims in the city’s history over the past seven months. What happened today is undoubtedly an exception. We will investigate thoroughly to uncover the real motive.”

Police have launched a full-scale investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects, while security in the surrounding area has been tightened.
