SHAH ALAM: A total of 50 motorcycles were seized and 116 summonses issued during an integrated operation targeting illegal street racing activities at the Bukit Raja Toll Plaza along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) early today.
Selangor police said in a Facebook post that the operation, dubbed Op Tutup Samseng Jalanan, involved the Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK).
A total of 146 individuals aged between 16 and 25, as well as 141 motorcycles, were inspected during the operation.
“As a result of the operation, 116 summonses were issued for various traffic offences, comprising 92 by the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters’ JSPT and another 24 by Bukit Aman JSPT,” police said in a statement.
During the same operation, AADK conducted random urine screening tests on 22 individuals comprising 17 men and five women.
However, none tested positive for drugs and no arrests were made following the screenings.
The integrated operation involved five senior police officers and 16 rank-and-file personnel from the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters’ JSPT, along with 30 JPJ personnel and eight AADK officers.
