KUALA LUMPUR: In response to her recent Instagram Story post criticising certain local celebrities for what appeared to be their vacuous support of Palestine, actress Ramona Zamzam says she isn’t concerned about upsetting anyone.

She did not identify any one person when she claimed that it was meant for individuals who had first played it safe by keeping their support for Palestine and criticism of the Zionist authority in Israel to themselves.

It is not my responsibility if that offends someone. Go ahead and take offence.Although I acknowledge that the industry is full of flimsy characters, this is simply too much.

“Why have some of these celebrities, who have hordes of followers on social media, been keeping quiet about Israel’s atrocities, until there’s this threat of them being boycotted?” she inquired.

She went on to say that Muslims had a responsibility to do their part to combat the injustice taking place in the West Bank.

“However, a few of us decided to be cautious,” stated Ramona, 33, who is wed to Rami Alashkar, a Palestinian.

“Don’t tell me that you won’t even stand up for our brothers and sisters in Palestine.””All you have to do is share the word with your numerous social media fans,” stated Ramona, who is a cast member of the upcoming police drama series “Polis Peronda,” which is scheduled to premiere on TV3 on June 28.
