Ustaz Don apologises for his “mistake” and thanks the criticism

KUALA LUMPUR: Celebrity preacher Ustaz Don Daniyal Don Biyajid, 40, acknowledges all religious scholars who disagree with him and accepts constructive criticism of his opinions as shown on talk shows on television.

Ustaz Don stated in a Berita Harian news broadcast yesterday: “I appreciate the input from religious scholars and the general public. I acknowledge your worries and critiques and sincerely apologies for my recent remarks. God bless each and every one of us.”

The manager of Ustaz Don, who went by Ana, thanked the media for acknowledging his challenging circumstances and sticking by him over the years.

Recently, the well-known pastor faced criticism for a statement he made on a radio station. According to him, Muslims are not permitted to fast on the first day of Hari Raya.

Scholars and internet users harshly attacked Ustaz Don’s stance. He was chastised by many of them for “confusing” Muslims.

After then, Ustaz Don apologised in public on his Instagram account.
