GEORGETOWN : The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Prof. Datuk Dr. Massila Kamalrudin, has received international recognition through the World Women Empowerment Impact Award 2026 at the World Women Economic and Business Summit (WWEBS) held here today.
In a statement, UTeM informed that she received the trophy and certificate of excellence from Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, in recognition of her leadership, transformative contributions, and commitment to empowering women as well as driving inclusive development within the higher education sector.
“Massila’s leadership has also contributed to strengthening institutional excellence, expanding industry-academia collaboration, and creating more opportunities for women to thrive as leaders, innovators, and agents of change,” according to the statement.
UTeM further stated that the award also recognises Massila’s role in championing higher education as a catalyst for community empowerment, in addition to her ongoing contributions to women’s development at both ASEAN and international levels.
Under Massila’s leadership, the university continues to strengthen its position in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), while also recording the highest student intake in its history and producing highly skilled graduates to meet industry demands.
