KUCHING: Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg believes that the Dayak community should seize the chance to bolster their solidarity during the Gawai celebration.

According to the Premier of Sarawak, the Dayaks’ ability to work together with other communities in the state to forge a bright future depends on their togetherness.

“As the Premier who represents the interests of all ethnicities, I hope the Dayak people will stay together.

In his Gawai address on Friday, May 31, he urged the town to “expand your thinking to become a progressive and dynamic community to face the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

According to Abang Johari, Sarawak is headed towards development and high revenue by 2030 thanks to a number of state government efforts.

Among other things, he said that outside investors have faith in Sarawak’s ability to create a green economy powered by renewable energy.

“I recently travelled to Seoul to speak with investors who see Sarawak’s potential as Asia’s powerhouse for green energy.

“Three Korean companies have strengthened their commitment to develop the H2biscus project in Bintulu which will produce hydrogen and ammonia as clean energy sources,” he stated.

Furthermore, Abang Johari reported that he had met Arab multinational corporations interested in collaborating with Sarawak on green energy projects, and representatives from the European Union had indicated interest in such joint ventures.

By 2030, when these developments are completed, Sarawakians would be able to work in high-paying positions.

“We are also planning development projects up to 2050 to ensure Sarawak’s success continues beyond 2030,” he stated.
