Teenager posing as hospital staff remanded for 2 days
KUALA LUMPUR: A teenage girl suspected of impersonating hospital staff at a hospital in Serdang has been remanded for two days starting today to assist with the police investigation.
The remand order was issued by Magistrate Muhammad Bukhori Md Ruslan at the Sepang Magistrate’s Court, according to Harian Metro.
The remand is to aid the investigation under Sections 448 and 170 of the Penal Code for trespassing and impersonating a public officer.
Yesterday, Sepang Police Chief Wan Kamarul Wan Azran stated that the teenager was detained after being suspected of posing as hospital staff and offering to assist in performing a surgery.
He said the police received a report from the hospital after detecting the presence of the 14-year-old suspect.
“The hospital identified the suspect as the same individual who had attempted to register at the counter using a false identity. They immediately contacted the police, and the arrest was made this morning.
The suspect was detained in the hospital lobby, and items seized included a scrub suit, scrub pants, and a hospital lanyard,” he said in a statement.
