Tabung Haji supplies two additional ATMs at the lodgings of Malaysian pilgrims in Mecca
MECCA: As opposed to just one ATM at the lodging buildings for Malaysian pilgrims, Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) now has two ATMs available for use by these pilgrims, according to Datuk Seri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman, head of the Malaysian Haj delegation.
According to him, the facility was established in coordination with Alinma Bank’s management to make it easier for Malaysian pilgrims to withdraw cash without having to go far to locate ATMs in other locations.
Since the Saudi Arabian government stopped providing cash withdrawal counters in lodging structures to cover pilgrims’ expenses while visiting the Holy Land in 2022, these ATMs have become extremely significant.
Following that, in order to offer a debit card that may be used in the Holy Land without incurring any service fees, regardless of how frequently it is used in comparison to other debit cards, we have partnered with Bank Islam.
“Thanks to the collaboration between Alinma Bank and the hotel owners, TH has installed two additional ATMs this year, which are included in the amenities provided to all pilgrims,” he declared.
After presiding over the Alinma Bank ATM at the Land Premium Hotel today, which was also attended by the hotel’s owners, Sheikhs Khalid and Esam Saifuddin, he made this statement to members of the press.
For the convenience of more than 8,000 pilgrims staying in surrounding hotels, the ATM facility was previously only available at the Abraj Al-Janadriyah Hotel (Zone A), which also serves as the TH headquarters in Mecca. This year, it was expanded to the Land Premium Hotel (Zone D) and Rehab Al-Janadriyah (Zone C).
Pilgrims lodging in the Zwar Al-Bait Hotel, Jawharat Al-Bait Hotel, and Al-Fajer Al-Badya 2 Hotel, which are in Zone B, are permitted to use the ATM in the Clock Tower and its environs.
Due to the growing number of pilgrims on pilgrimages these days, along with the worry of money being lost or stolen, pilgrims no longer need to carry significant quantities of cash thanks to these ATMs.
In addition to safety, he warned, pilgrims should only withdraw as much money as they actually need, particularly when travelling to Arafah.
Jalani Ahmad and his spouse, Nordalilah Ismail, from Negeri Sembilan, have reported that the feature enables them to withdraw the necessary amount of money solely, hence limiting the possibility of misplacing or acting impulsively when shopping.
Both Sabah resident Aida Madius and her roommate Ruby Zainureen Zahedi applauded TH’s decision because it eliminated their need to trek a considerable distance in search of an ATM and allowed them to use it without paying a fee. – BERNAMA
