Saudi Arabia Completes Departure of Iranian Hajj Pilgrims via Northern Border

RIYADH|| July 2: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has successfully completed the departure procedures for Iranian Hajj pilgrims returning home through the Jadidat Arar border crossing in the Northern Borders region, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

The operation was carried out under the directives of King Salman and based on recommendations from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The move was part of the kingdom’s continued commitment to supporting pilgrims from all nations, including Iran, especially amid the current circumstances affecting the country.

The Ministry of Interior, in coordination with its various sectors and affiliated entities, deployed all necessary human and technical resources to facilitate the pilgrims’ smooth and safe exit. Authorities also ensured that transport to the border was well-organized and secure within an integrated framework of service and security.

The coordinated efforts aimed to provide comprehensive assistance until the Iranian pilgrims could safely return home after fulfilling their Hajj obligations.

Alireza Bayat, head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its support and praised the quality of services provided at the border crossings and throughout the Hajj journey. He noted that Iranian pilgrims were highly satisfied with the organization, facilities, and overall hospitality during their stay.

The successful facilitation of the Iranian pilgrims’ departure underscores the kingdom’s ongoing efforts to ensure the comfort and safety of all pilgrims, reflecting its role as the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
