PUTRAJAYA, July 23 (Voice of Malaysia): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the government has doubled the allocation for the Rahmah MADANI Sale initiative to RM600 million this year, up from RM300 million previously.
The announcement was made during a live national broadcast on Tuesday as part of the government’s appreciation initiative for Malaysians in conjunction with the upcoming Merdeka celebrations.
“This increase reflects our strong commitment to expanding direct benefits to the people, especially at the grassroots level,” said Anwar.

The increased funding will allow for more frequent sales events and a broader reach, covering all 600 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) areas across the country.

Aims to offer essential goods at discounted prices, helping ease the cost of living for low- and middle-income Malaysians.
Anwar also highlighted the Sejati MADANI program, which channels up to RM100,000 per community to empower local residents in determining their own income-generating activities.
“So far, Sejati MADANI has successfully supported over 8,600 economic activities at the village level, showing how effective community-led development can be,” Anwar noted.
The MADANI Adoption Village initiative has grown significantly, expanding from 40 villages to 200 in just one year.
In the education sector, the MADANI Adoption School program was launched to improve learning outcomes, particularly in underprivileged areas. The program has seen tremendous response from corporate partners, prompting the government to set a target of 1,000 foster schools by the end of 2025.
“This reflects our national responsibility to ensure that every child, regardless of background, receives the best possible education,” Anwar added.
