PRN NS: PH Remains in Control of Non-Malay Seats, But Loke Falls in Chennah

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) control of non-Malay State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats remains difficult to challenge in this Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN).

Although a surprise was witnessed in the Chennah DUN seat, when its incumbent who is also DAP Secretary-General, Anthony Loke, lost this time, the majority of other DAP seats still saw their control remain.

Loke in the 2023 state election won the seat with a majority of 2,200 votes, but this time the Transport Minister lost to Siow Kong Choon who represented Barisan Nasional (BN).

Among the seats still controlled by PH in this state election include Seremban Jaya, Mambau, Rahang, Lukut, Bukit Kepayang, Nilai, Bahau and Temiang.

Meanwhile, the Repah DUN seat which was previously controlled by PH also lost to the BN candidate represented by MCA leader, Koh Kim Swee.

PKR and Parti Amanah Negara’s (AMANAH) performance in this Negeri Sembilan state election was also seen to have declined, with several seats previously won by them being seized by BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Surprisingly, the Linggi DUN seat which featured Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, also lost, besides the Sikamat DUN seat which was previously considered a PKR stronghold, now taken over by PN.

Based on unofficial results as of 9 pm tonight, BN won 18 DUN seats namely Chennah, Pertang, Sungai Lui, Palong, Jeram Padang, Lenggeng, Juasseh and Seri Menanti.

BN also won in Senaling, Pilah, Johol, Labu, Chembong, Rantau, Kota, Linggi and Gemencheh and Repah.

Meanwhile, PN won in seven seats namely Klawang, Serting, Sikamat, Ampangan, Paroi, Bagan Pinang and Gemas.
