PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim joined students from public and private universities, teacher training institutes, and polytechnics for a breaking-of-fast gathering at Kompleks Seri Perdana on Saturday evening, highlighting the importance of character-building and moral leadership during Ramadan.

In his address, Anwar described Ramadan as the best “madrasah” a spiritual school for nurturing strong character, deepening piety, and strengthening integrity. He emphasized that these values are essential for young Malaysians as they navigate what he called the challenges of a “post-normal” era marked by rapid technological change and global uncertainty.
The prime minister encouraged students to use the moral lessons of Ramadan as their guiding compass, aligning personal development with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI and the forthcoming National Education Blueprint 2026–2035. He said the nation aims to produce a generation that is knowledgeable, ethical, and innovative.
Anwar stressed the need for youth to master emerging fields such as technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). He urged students to aspire to become job creators rather than merely job seekers, underscoring entrepreneurship and creativity as key drivers of Malaysia’s future growth.
He also highlighted efforts to strengthen Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) through the STAR framework, aimed at ensuring the education system remains relevant, inclusive, and responsive to industry demands.
Following congregational Maghrib prayers, the prime minister delivered a brief religious reminder (tazkirah) and shared words of encouragement with the students.
Concluding the evening, Anwar expressed hope that the holy month of Ramadan would reinforce collective determination to build a more advanced and integrity-driven Malaysia.
