GEORGE TOWN: Police are urging members of the public to come forward with information following a fatal hit-and-run incident on the Penang Bridge early Friday morning.
Northeast district police chief ACP Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the accident occurred at around 6.30am near the bridge exit heading towards Perai.
The victim, believed to be a foreign national without any identification documents, was found lifeless at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest he was struck by a vehicle that fled after the collision.
“The victim was suspected to have been hit by an unknown vehicle and was confirmed dead at the scene,” ACP Abdul Rozak said in a statement.
Authorities are now working to determine the vehicle involved and trace those responsible.
