PM Anwar Extends Condolences on Passing of Tun Dr Hasmah

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extended his condolences following the passing of Tun Dr Hasmah Mohd Ali this morning.

Anwar described the passing of the wife of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a great loss to society and the nation.

He made the remarks before delivering his opening address at the International Future Conference 2026 (IFC 2026) at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation (ISTAC), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Kuala Lumpur campus here today.

The Prime Minister also invited conference participants to recite Al-Fatihah for the late Dr Hasmah.

Earlier, Dr Hasmah was confirmed to have passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) this morning at the age of 100.

News of her passing was confirmed by her son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, when contacted by Bernama today.
