Ipoh: A total of 63 illegal immigrants (Pati) from various countries who were stationed at the Langkap Immigration Depot were repatriated to their respective countries of origin yesterday.
According to Bernama, Perak Immigration Director Meor Hezbullah Meor Abd Malik said that all of them, consisting of 42 men and 21 women aged 18 to 50, were taken to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to be deported, after they had completed their fines and imprisonment. .
He said, all of them had previously committed various offenses under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Immigration Regulations 1963 and were decided to be transferred to their country of origin under the same act and regulations.
“They are also blacklisted to prevent them from re-entering the country,” he said in a statement here.
He said that the repatriation program was part of the ongoing enforcement activities against Pati carried out by the Perak Immigration Department (JIM) for detainees placed at the Langkap Immigration Depot.
