Parents were threatened with death, Naim Daniel filed a police report

KUALA LUMPUR: Naim Daniel, a 27-year-old singer and actor, filed a police report today at the Semenyih Police Station in Selangor against a social media account user who threatened his parents with death.The Instagram user @syxmzxk allegedly said, “If I see your mother and father, I will slaughter them alive.” Naim, whose full name is Muhammad Naim Daniel Baharin, stated that he was then summoned by investigative authorities from the Nilai District Police Headquarters (IPD) Nilai in Negeri Sembilan to be examined.

“The individual’s opinions are overly excessive. I cannot keep silent, especially because the statements endanger me and my family’s safety.

“The police informed me that they had gotten all information about the individual in question. So, I am submitting this problem to the authorities for further action,” he stated in a Harian Metro story.

According to Naim, the comments against him have deviated significantly from the original topic of a post on social networking platform X on the Blockout2024 boycott problem.

“Their statements are irrational and unrelated to what I said on X.

“Just because I warned people not to go too aggressive in their boycotts, it has escalated to the point of insulting things unrelated to the boycott.

I stated that we should not be ‘Ghuluw’ (extreme) to the extent of developing branches of sin when attempting to achieve something good.

“In the end, I was accused of being overconfident.

Some people misconstrued my intentions and utilized a different story to oppose me,” he stated.

Naim went on to say, “If this is the way of #blockout2024, then explain to me why it is acceptable to threaten, insult, slander, and utter profanities in the name of boycotting without first determining the truth.”

“Alhamdulillah, I grew raised in a loving home that instilled Islamic principles and empathy for others and nature.

My parents, both Muslims, instilled in me the importance of thinking and being polite.

“I have never disregarded the pain or tyranny endured by persons of the same religion in Palestine. I have never received any funding from companies who support the accursed dictatorship (Israel),” he stated.
