Panorama, Heritage of Negeri Sembilan in Luxury Fashion Pieces

The grandeur of Istana Seri Menanti, renowned for its traditional Minangkabau architecture, is now translated into exclusive Royal Sembilan fashion pieces.

Inspiration from that heritage landmark adorns blazers, shirts, headscarves and several other designs.

The brand, founded by Tengku Puan Panglima Besar Tunku Puteri Jawahir Tuanku Ja’afar, also pays homage to the bunga lado (chilli flower).

The official flower of Negeri Sembilan is rendered through original digital prints featuring its growth journey from seed to chilli fruit.

Its Creative Director, Anuar Faizal said that each design in the latest Royal Sembilan collection carries its own narrative through a combination of natural elements, culture and the state’s heritage.

“In fact, we also bring the beauty of Jelebu’s tranquil sunset panorama as inspiration in this collection.

“After this, we plan to highlight the uniqueness of other districts, for example the carpet clouds at Bukit Taisho, Bahau, as well as the coffee culture in Seremban,” he said after the launch of the Royal Sembilan boutique recently.

Also present were Tunku Puteri Jawahir together with her elder sister, Tunku Dara Tunku Tan Sri Naquiah Tuanku Ja’afar.

The boutique, located on Level 1 of Bangsar Shopping Centre, celebrates the richness of Negeri Sembilan’s art and culture through contemporary luxury fashion.

According to Anuar, Royal Sembilan offers ready‑to‑wear and sophisticated bespoke collections to suit the tastes of today’s women.

Each design features a play of patterns, colours and contemporary silhouettes, while using luxurious fabrics such as pure silk and cotton.

He said that prices for each design start from RM699 and above depending on the type of fabric and cut.

“I work closely with the brand’s founder in reinterpreting Negeri Sembilan’s royal heritage through a contemporary luxury lens.

“Through that approach, traditional craftsmanship, cultural narratives and heritage textile techniques are translated into elegant collections that remain respectful of their origins, yet relevant to modern lifestyles,” he said.
