New MACC Chief Officially Begins Duties at Putrajaya Headquarters

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman has officially reported for duty as the new chief commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

He succeeds Tan Sri Azam Baki following an appointment letter issued on April 25 by the chief secretary to the government, Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

The appointment received the consent of Sultan Ibrahim in accordance with Section 5(1) of the MACC Act 2009.

Abd Halim’s appointment will run for a two-year term, effective from May 13, 2026, until May 12, 2028.

In a statement issued on May 13, the MACC said all members of the commission extended their congratulations and best wishes to Abd Halim as he leads efforts to further strengthen integrity, governance, and the nation’s anti-corruption agenda.
