The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), through the Education Malaysia Egypt (EME) office, is assisting and monitoring the progress of eight Malaysian students involved in a road accident while travelling from Cairo to Port Said, Egypt, on January 25.

In a statement today, MOHE reported that five students sustained minor injuries and were treated at the outpatient ward of Sayed Galal Hospital, Cairo, while three students were admitted to the emergency ward for further treatment.

“MOHE is also closely following the situation in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA),” the statement added.

MOHE urged students to update their personal and academic information in the official Higher Education Department portal to ensure accurate and quick data access during emergencies.

The Higher Education Department has developed the MyData@EducationMalaysia4U system to facilitate data management through this initiative.
