Military plane debris was found in the forest of Vietnam’s
On November 8, researchers found the wreckage of the Yak-130 military training plane that crashed on November 6. A plane emergency forced the pilots to bail out two days earlier.
The head of the Buon Don District People’s Committee in Dak Lak Province revealed the find on Friday. The plane was on a training trip from Phu Cat Airport in Binh Dinh Province with members of the 940th Regiment of the Air Force Officer School when the pilots said they ran into a problem that made it impossible for them to land safely.
After three unsuccessful attempts to fix the problem, they were forced to jump out of the plane at 600 meters above it due to low fuel. Both pilots landed safely in a forest area in Binh Dinh.
They were later found and saved. There was a huge search operation in three provinces: Binh Dinh, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak, with over 550 people, 33 cars, and a Mi-17 helicopter.
On Friday, about 250 km from Phu Cat Airport, we finally found the wreckage. Someone in the village reported hearing a strange explosion in the woods, prompting this action.Upon closer inspection, it became evident that the plane had sustained significant damage, particularly on its bottom.
The fact that the leaves and twigs around it are still green shows that there was probably either a small fire or none at all. The government in Krong Na Commune in Buon Don District had offered a VNĐ10 million (about $400) reward for information that led to the plane’s finding. News from Vietnam (ANN)
