Melaka State Election: PN Candidate Arrives Accompanied by BN and PN Supporters in Bukit Katil
BUKIT KATIL: Cooperation between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) began taking shape on the ground as supporters from both coalitions accompanied the PN candidate to the nomination centre for the Bukit Katil State Legislative Assembly seat this morning.
PN candidate Mohd Ridzuan Mohd Shariff from PAS arrived at Dewan Tun Ali accompanied by dozens of supporters who turned up to show their support for him.
The presence of supporters from both coalitions attracted attention during the nomination process for the 16th Melaka State Election, reflecting the political cooperation established ahead of this election.
Among the leaders present were PAS leader Misbahul Munir Masduki and Arau Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.
In a related development, Parti Bersama candidate Aliza Che Amran also arrived at the nomination centre with her supporters to contest the Bukit Katil seat.
Her arrival added to the lively atmosphere of the nomination process this morning as supporters from different political parties began gathering around the hall to show support for their respective candidates.
Earlier, BN and PN reached a political understanding ahead of the 16th Melaka State Election as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and avoid contesting against each other in their bid to face Pakatan Harapan (PH).
The understanding also saw both coalitions coordinate their seat allocation strategies, with Bukit Katil among the constituencies where PN is fielding a candidate from PAS.
Mohd Ridzuan is expected to face the incumbent PH assemblyman, Datuk Seri Adly Zahari, who is also the Deputy Defence Minister, as well as Aliza, subject to official confirmation by the Election Commission (EC).
