According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysia wants to use artificial intelligence (AI) to address ethical concerns, close the digital divide, and promote equitable growth.
According to him, the government is also developing a framework for AI that emphasizes diversity and innovation.
“I also emphasize the need to train and enhance the skills of young professionals in the field of AI to meet industry demands and accelerate progress and digitalization.”
“There is also a need for a multi-faceted approach in the application of AI, including investment in green energy, water conservation, and reforming bureaucratic regulations to be more responsive to investors,” he said on Facebook.
During the “Opportunities and Challenges in the AI Revolution” panel discussion at the APEC CEO Summit, he made this statement.
In the meantime, Anwar stated that during a discussion session with influential figures in the digital and technology sector, he also expressed national policies and viewpoints regarding the potential and difficulties presented by the AI revolution.
In order to complement each nation’s strengths and tackle shared issues, he said it is critical that Malaysia collaborate through ASEAN initiatives like the ASEAN Green Initiative and the joint digital agenda.
Even as it prepares to chair ASEAN in 2025, Malaysia remains committed to promoting sustainable growth. I demand that the community, business, and government work together more closely.
He said, “This is to create opportunities in the digital space and make sure that no one falls behind in the era of rapid digital advancement.”
In closing, Anwar underlined that even if AI may cause disruptions, Malaysia needs to concentrate entirely on training and education in order to set up the proper framework for success in the future.
