Malaysia ranks 26th in the world and third in Asia according to the EF English Proficiency Index (EF EPI) results
Malaysia has achieved the third position in Asia and the 26th position in the globe for its high English proficiency, as indicated by the 2024 EF English Proficiency Index (EF EPI).
In 116 countries and regions where English is not the primary language, the index assesses proficiency levels, which range from very high to very low.
Malaysia received an EF EPI score of 566.
Last year, Malaysia ranked 25th globally. Nevertheless, this year, the nation has declined in the rankings.
Singapore, on the other hand, maintained its lead as the most proficient English-speaking nation in Asia, despite finishing in third place globally. Singapore ranked second overall in the 2022 and 2023 rankings.
A classification of countries and regions based on their English proficiency is the EF English Proficiency Index (EF EPI). EF Education First, a Swedish education corporation, conducted a survey that examined the test results of 2.1 million adult non-native English speakers across 116 countries and regions.
