PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) held its monthly assembly for May 2026, organized by the National Registration Department (JPN), featuring key highlights on administrative reform, security strengthening, and digital transformation initiatives.

The event showcased several programmes, including the Musical Theatre performance “Kad Pengenalan Revolution,” the launch of mySUWa, JPN’s transformation initiatives, and the strengthening of staffing under the Registration Officer Scheme.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail emphasized that effective leadership begins with “the right team,” supported by a strong system of checks and balances and a balance between integrity and competence to ensure a resilient and dynamic organization.

He also shared findings from a two-week field inspection of border security operations, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat smuggling activities, enhance radar capabilities, and close security blind spots in high-risk areas. Infrastructure improvements, including new radar systems and additional control posts, remain a priority.

The ministry is also accelerating modernization at national entry points through the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe), which includes autogate facilities at airports and strategic routes such as the Johor–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS), aimed at improving both security and travel efficiency.

Looking ahead, KDN is preparing to introduce new identity cards and passports with enhanced security features by June as part of broader efforts to strengthen public service delivery.

The event was attended by Deputy Home Minister Datuk Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah; Chief Secretary to the Ministry Datuk Dr. Awang Alik Jeman; Inspector-General of Police IG Datuk Seri Haji Mohd Khalid Ismail; senior ministry officials; and heads of departments and agencies under KDN.
