KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Education (KPM) re-screened the Physical Activity, Sports and Co-curricular Assessment (PAJSK) data of 2023 Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) graduates whose PAJSK scores dropped out.

According to Bernama, the MoE informed that the data will be submitted to the University Central Unit (UPU) for the purpose of matching and offering further studies subject to candidate qualifications and program vacancies.

“KPM takes seriously the issue of SPM graduates who dropped out of PAJSK,” he said in a statement.

“Immediate action has been taken to re-screen the PAJSK data of candidates who dropped out.”

The Ministry is also investigating the resulting matter in detail and implementing intervention measures to resolve it so that the same issue does not recur.

For SPM graduates who wish to apply to continue their studies through the UPU system, the calculation of merit marks will include 10% of co-curricular marks in addition to examination results.

Recently, the media reported on the issue of PAJSK scores of SPM graduates being empty resulting in some students failing in their application to continue their studies at higher education institutes or the offer obtained was not their first choice.

Among them, a student guardian of a school claimed that his son failed to get first choice after the results of the UPU application for SPM graduates 2023 were announced on May 27.
