KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur police disposed of 5,022 drug case items worth more than RM5 million, today.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Fadil Marsus, said among the drugs disposed of included methamphetamine, cannabis, cocaine, ketamine and ketum water, with a total weight of 544.28 kilograms (kg) as well as 963.34 litres of liquid.

“The disposal of the drugs involved 4,884 investigation papers which had completed the prosecution process in court from 2007 to 2025.

“The case items were disposed of using the services of Kualiti Alam Sdn Bhd based on the company’s capability and experience,” he said.

He said this at a press conference after attending the Kuala Lumpur Police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) Drug Case Items Disposal Ceremony at the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK), here, today.

Fadil said, the disposal using an incinerator was carried out at the Kualiti Alam Sdn Bhd Waste Treatment Centre at the Bukit Pelandok Waste Treatment Centre, Negeri Sembilan.

“This disposal is not merely to destroy the drugs, but to break the chain of abuse, close the gap for leakage and to affirm that every seizure that becomes a case item will be managed transparently, in a controlled manner and with integrity,” he said.
