KUWAIT CITY/TEHRAN: The Iranian Army has conducted a large-scale drone barrage against US military bases in Kuwait, with satellite imagery revealing precise hits and extensive damage inside the US-run Arifjan base, according to an official statement released Friday.
Iran’s Army Ground Forces reported that a wave of loitering drones targeted American positions across the Persian Gulf state. The operation involved multiple types of “destructive drones,” marking one of the most extensive attacks on US military infrastructure since the escalation of hostilities in late February.
Local Kuwaiti media reported air raid sirens and repeated explosions, indicating that several strikes landed across areas hosting US personnel. Satellite images show significant destruction of key facilities within the Arifjan base, particularly buildings linked to communications and operational coordination, underscoring the precision of Iran’s expanding drone arsenal.
The strikes come amid Tehran’s retaliatory campaign following the unprovoked US-Israeli attacks on February 28, which resulted in the deaths of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and more than 1,300 civilians, including women, children, and senior military commanders.
Since then, Iran has carried out successive missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli-occupied territories as well as US bases across the region, including facilities in Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Iranian officials emphasize that these operations are acts of self-defense, targeting only foreign military assets stationed in the region.
Tehran has also warned neighboring governments to remain cautious of potential false-flag operations, which, according to Iranian authorities, could be used by the US or Israel to drag Arab states into the conflict.
This latest drone operation demonstrates Iran’s growing precision-strike capabilities and signals the continuing escalation of hostilities in the Gulf amid the ongoing US-Israeli-Iran tensions.
