KUALA LUMPUR: In an attempt to improve artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the nation, students at higher education institutions (IPT) will have access to current data and research findings at ministries and government organisations throughout the next two weeks.

The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) would oversee the use of cloud computing to offer access, according to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Although cloud computing is still limited, we hope to accelerate student access to information and research with our new policy. In order for students to have access to MOSTI’s agencies and their data (including research findings), I would like MOSTI to send them another reminder.

“I grant two weeks to all research organisations engaged in cross-ministerial research to prepare for university access.”

This was stated by Anwar at the “Temu Anwar” session held today at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) as part of the Malaysia Artificial Intelligence Nexus 2024 (MY AI NEXUS 2024) initiative.

Anwar had previously introduced the AI Talent Roadmap for Malaysia 2024–2030, the Malaysian Artificial Intelligence Consortium (MAIC), and the AI Faculty of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

In the meantime, AI Faculty was successfully founded in less than four months after a request from the government, according to Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir. The faculty’s curriculum was created and pioneered by both domestic and international professionals in AI education and industry.
