KUALA LUMPUR: Faisal Abdul Halim or better known as Mickey, the winger for Selangor FC, has begun light exercises while still attending physiotherapy treatments, according to his father Abdul Halim Saad.

According to him, the 26-year-old is improving and has recovered to over 95 per cent of his previous level.

Abdul Halim continued, saying that his determination to heal swiftly has been bolstered by the backing he has received from friends, family, and the Selangor FC administration.

“I appreciate the Selangor FC management focusing all of their attention on him. During the MADANI Football Clinic at Jawi Public Field on Saturday, he told Bernama, “His mental strength is high because he has the heart of a football player… he isn’t thinking about anything else and wants to get back to playing football.”

Abdul Halim claims that his son’s family members have accepted what happened to him and are not thinking back on the earlier occurrence.

The football clinic, which is being held in association with Sekolah Kebangsaan Jawi, Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Bakap, and the Young Warriors Academy Club, aims to find talent in young people and develop football players in the image of Faisal, according to Ammar Pauzi, president of the DNA Faisal Halim Club, who was also present at the event.

According to Penang Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid, the club wants to travel to every area and teach kids about football using the DNA Faisal Halim Club football module.

The response to today’s activity was positive, with up to 250 children between the ages of seven and twelve in attendance. In addition, we are demonstrating our support for Faisal in the hopes that his spirit would uplift the attendees today,” he stated.

On May 5, Faisal was attacked with acid in Kota Damansara, Selangor, by an unidentified person, resulting in fourth-degree burns on multiple body parts.

Following four surgeries, Faisal was released from a private hospital on May 25.
