Elyana clarifies she’s not a health advisor

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and actress Elyana Emrizal has made it clear that she is not a health information resource where people can simply reach out for medical advice.

In a recent Instagram story, the 37-year-old artist, who is a survivor of stage 4 lymphoma cancer, stated: “I’m not a clinic or hospital where people can come for health information.”

She expressed frustration with the numerous health-related queries she receives on social media, noting that it can be overwhelming for her.

Elyana emphasized that she is also a patient dealing with her own health issues, and she feels burdened by the expectation that she must provide answers to everyone’s medical questions.

“It’s challenging for me. It seems like people expect me to give them a satisfactory response whenever they ask for it,” she said. “When I can’t meet those expectations, I face verbal abuse, as if I’m not a person with feelings. I have my own struggles.”

She urged those with health concerns to seek advice from qualified medical professionals rather than relying on her.

In 2017, Elyana revealed she had been battling stage 4 lymphoma cancer since 2010. She announced in December 2021 that she was cancer-free.
