Central Brigade PGA Seizes Assets, Goods Worth RM257 Million
KUALA LUMPUR – The General Operations Force (PGA) Central Brigade has successfully seized various assets and goods worth RM257 million throughout the first six months of this year.
The seizures were made through 187 raids conducted in the brigade’s areas of responsibility, involving the states of Selangor, the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.
Commander of the PGA Central Brigade, Senior Assistant Commissioner Hakemal Hawari said all the raids were conducted from 1 January until today.
“Through these raids, a total of 662 individuals have also been arrested,” he said at a press conference at the PGA Central Brigade Headquarters here today.
Elaborating further, Hakemal said that throughout the same period, a total of 247 illegal immigrants (PATI) attempting to ‘slip through’ into the country were successfully detained.
According to him, the arrests of the illegal immigrants involved 160 men, 54 women and one boy.
“These arrests were made through 11 raids conducted throughout that period, which also seized various assets and goods amounting to RM1.5 million.
“Raids conducted in the first six months of this year also successfully detained 32 land and sea tekong (boat captains/handlers) as well as transporters who managed the movement of these illegal immigrants,” he said.
