Anwar Ibrahim Sends Prayers for Sultan of Brunei Ahead of Medical Procedure

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his prayers and well-wishes to His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam, who is scheduled to undergo medical treatment in the coming days.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Anwar said he had been informed that the Sultan would soon receive medical care and expressed hopes for the monarch’s swift recovery and continued good health.

“I pray that His Majesty is granted lasting good health and remains under the protection and grace of Allah SWT,” the Prime Minister said.

Anwar also wished for Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah to continue leading Brunei Darussalam with wisdom, prudence, and sound judgment.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei on Thursday, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is scheduled to undergo a right knee replacement surgery on January 18.

The Sultan, who is one of the world’s longest-reigning monarchs, is widely respected both domestically and internationally for his leadership and close ties with regional leaders, including Malaysia.
