On Saturday, a representative from the Afghan interior ministry announced that the $10 million prize that had been offered by the US for information leading to the capture of Sirajuddin Haqqani, a prominent Taliban leader, had been rescinded.

A comment request was not promptly answered by the United States Department of State. Haqqani is “believed to have coordinated and participated in cross-border attacks against United States and coalition forces in Afghanistan,” according to the FBI’s website, which still displays the reward.
