GISSCO celebrates Golden Jubilee with “Kasih Merdeka” CSR Program for senior citizens

PUCHONG – In conjunction with the 68th National Day celebration and its 50th anniversary, GISSCO Sdn Bhd organised a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program themed “Kasih Merdeka: 50 Years of GISSCO – Love & Service for Senior Citizens” at the Al-Ikhlas Elderly Care and Treatment Centre in Puchong, Selangor.

GISSCO, the first Bumiputera company to hold Petronas License 001, held the program as a symbol of its commitment to community well-being, particularly the elderly.

A total of 50 residents from the care centre participated in various interactive activities and entertainment performances, and received donations of daily essentials and health care items.

Highlights of the program included patriotic song performances and the waving of the Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag) with the senior citizens, birthday celebrations for residents born in August, and the distribution of basic necessities, food, and hygiene kits.

Additionally, GISSCO contributed RM5,000 in cash to the founder of the care centre, Puan Hajjah Muji binti Haji Sulaiman, to help cover daily operational costs.

GISSCO Sdn Bhd Director, Umaira Mohammad Rashid, said the program reflected the spirit of love that knows no age.

“Senior citizens are not merely recipients but contributors to the nation’s history. In this spirit of independence, we want them to feel that their sacrifices are valued and that they remain at the heart of national pride,” she said.

This program marks GISSCO’s second CSR initiative for 2025, in line with its golden jubilee celebration, which commemorates five decades of excellence in Malaysia’s oil and gas industry.

GISSCO reaffirmed its continuous commitment to innovation, the development of local energy talent, and community well-being.

Provide welfare support through donations and volunteer activities
