Pink Plane 4.0 Soars High in Promoting Breast Cancer Awareness at UniKL MIAT

SEPANG, 31 October: The Pink Plane 4.0 event, themed “Breast Cancer Awareness,” took flight at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT), uniting students, educators, and health advocates in a meaningful campaign to promote women’s health and early cancer detection.

Organized by Women in Aviation MIAT (WiAM), the initiative aimed to educate the community on the importance of early screening, prevention, and support for individuals affected by breast cancer.

According to Mdm. Haslinawati bt. Besar Sa’aid, Advisor of WiAM, the event focused on fostering community well-being through interactive sessions and complimentary health screenings.

“Through this effort, we hope to cultivate care, compassion, and solidarity in supporting women’s health,” she said.

The event was officially launched by Prof. ChM Juan Joon Ching, President of Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM). The opening remarks were delivered virtually by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Jessica Ong Hai Liaw FCILT, Chairperson of Women in Future Technologies (WiFT), Malaysia Robotics & Automation Society (MyRAS).

Also in attendance were Mdm. Lisa Wong, Executive Director of BIM; Dr. Intan Nadiya binti Suhaimin, Medical Officer at Klinik Haraiman Salak Tinggi and UniKL RCMP alumna; and Dr. Hazariah Mohd Noh, Chairperson of Next Gen CILT Malaysia.

Puteri Alesya, President of WiAM, highlighted that the success of Pink Plane 4.0 reflects the strong collaboration between WiAM UniKL, BIM, and WiFT MyRAS in driving impactful community engagement and empowering women through education, technology, and advocacy.

The event reaffirmed UniKL MIAT’s commitment to community outreach, showcasing how educational institutions can serve as powerful platforms for advancing health awareness and social responsibility.
