The bodies of the ship’s crew, which fell into the sea, were found in Bangladesh

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a Malaysian crew member who reportedly fell into the sea while installing a ‘pilot ladder’ in the waters of Chittagong, Bangladesh last Wednesday, was found by a rescue team yesterday.

Executive Secretary of the National Union of Seafarers of Peninsular Malaysia (NUSPM) Ikmal Azam Thanaraj Abdullah when contacted by Bernama, confirmed the discovery of the 31-year-old victim.

However, he said that all further details about the incident would be shared after his party met with the victim’s family today.

“Currently, the victim’s body is still in Bangladesh for the post-mortem process. I will meet with the

 

 victim’s family this morning and then I will inform the details of the incident,” he said.

Previously, through a message in the X application by user @DanialDDD, he informed that the victim, who is also his colleague, was believed to have fallen from the ship while in the waters of Bangladesh last Wednesday and asked the public to pray for the search and rescue of the victim to be facilitated.

 

The user also shared a video showing the state of the sea at the scene of the incident.
