PM Hopes Chinese New Year Celebrations Strengthen National Unity

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed hope that this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations will mark the beginning of a stronger spirit of unity and solidarity among Malaysians of all backgrounds.

In a statement issued today, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of festive occasions as a platform to bridge differences, strengthen relationships, and foster mutual understanding in a multicultural society.

“This is an opportunity for all of us to come together, celebrate our diversity, and reinforce the values of respect, tolerance, and cooperation that are crucial for national harmony,” he said.

He urged Malaysians to uphold the spirit of togetherness in facing challenges and building a more inclusive and prosperous nation.

Anwar also extended his warmest wishes to the Chinese community and all Malaysians celebrating the Lunar New Year, hoping for a year filled with peace, happiness, and prosperity.

Chinese New Year, which falls on 29 January  this year, is widely celebrated across the country, with various cultural and community events emphasizing the importance of unity and togetherness.
