Iran and Russia sign an all-encompassing strategic relationship deal

Iran and Russia’s presidents have signed a broad strategic partnership deal that will allow them to work together for a long time. Presidents Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran and Vladimir Putin of Russia signed the agreement on Friday in Moscow.

At a joint news conference after the signing, Pezeshkian said that the agreement would start a new era in ties between the two countries in all areas, but especially in the economic area.

“This agreement, which was made based on what was best for both countries, can show Iran and Russia how to work together in the future,” he said.

He said that both Tehran and Moscow are motivated to get rid of problems with visas, customs tariffs, banks, investment guarantees, and making it easier for traders to meet investment guarantees.

The Iranian president stated that the paper includes strategies to increase trade by utilizing the strengths and resources of the Eurasian Economic Union. He also said that it stressed how important it was for the two countries to work together better on things like fighting extremism, terrorism, and organized violence.

He said that he hoped relations between Iran and Russia would get stronger so that both countries could benefit and that a new era of strategic cooperation could begin. Pezeshkian said that Russia is a special case in the Islamic Republic’s strategy of being a good neighbor because it is a big country in the world.

He said that his talks in Moscow were “positive” and that they were about regional and foreign cooperation. They talked about things like what was happening in West Asia, the Caucasus, and keeping the peace and stability in Afghanistan.

As members of both the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS group of emerging economies, the Iranian president said that the growth of relations between the two countries will have a big effect on bringing the region closer together and promoting shared goals.

Pezeshkian said again that war is not the right way to solve problems and that Tehran welcomes talks between Russia and Ukraine that lead to peace.

“We strongly believe that Western countries should respect other countries’ concerns about security and not put too many demands on them.”

He said that he and Putin talked about how they felt about Israel’s armed attacks on Syria and Lebanon.

“Both countries stress how important it is to end the regime’s attacks on Syrian territory and set up a permanent ceasefire in Lebanon.”

Putin said that Russia and the U.S. share a joint view of what is happening in West Asia and the Caucasus, which is good for both sides. He stated that Iran and Russia do not interfere in other nations’ internal affairs and oppose unfair sanctions.

It was essential to the Russian president that trade relations with Iran grow, and he said that during his talks with Pezeshkian, the two leaders talked about ways to do this.

Putin said he hoped a ceasefire in Gaza would lead to “long-term stabilization” and asked everyone to work toward a “complete settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.”

According to the Russian president, Iran and Russia oppose outside pressure and value peace and safety in the Caucasus. In his capacity as a national representative, he advocated for the preservation of Syria’s borders as a solution to its problems.
